It's probably pretentious, but I have a habit of "naming" polish looks I really enjoy.
It's just a quick way to refer back to a look I really like, or if it makes me think of something specific.
| "Space Jam", made with OPI "Lucerne-tainly look marvelous" and Sally Hansen Diamond Strength "Wedding Crasher" |
| "Lumpy Space Princess", featuring two thin coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure "Good to Grape" and again, "Lucerne-tainly". In a non-bullshit lighting situation, this has a purply undertone. |
And of course, not all looks get a name, just those that I'd love to repeat later on, whether for a special occasion or otherwise.
| I suck at triangle cuticles. There were seven(!) polishes involved with this look. The base green was Wet N Wild's "Sagreena the Teenage Witch", then a layer of Sally Hansen's HD "Resolution". The red is L'Oreal's "Owl's Lust" with a top coat of Wet N Wild "Under Your Spell", and I think the lavender was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Lacey Lilac" with a top coat of Scherer Chameleon in "Calypso". The gold was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Golden-I". |
| L'Oreal's... "Owl's Lust" with NYC matte top coat. That fucking name. |
This look was inspired by wrapping paper at Christmas. Do you know how hard it is to take a shot of both hands? It involves timers.
Of course, as long as your polish looks good, it doesn't matter if it's named or not.
| "Blackberry Jam", OPI's "Black Cherry Chutney" topped with Revlon's "Sparkling". I freaking love this look. |
| I don't want to name it Cinderella, but that's all I can think of. OPI's "Dining Al Frisco" with tips of Sally Hansen Gem Crush "Big Money". |
