If you want a ton of polish cheap, especially if you're looking for any of Essie's Metallics line, GET TO KMART NOW.
I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING.
Okay all this stuff (unless otherwise mentioned) I picked up at a KMart from clearance.
 |
| Despite the $4 price tag, the Essies were ringing up at $2. The Wet N Wild was 50 cents. FIFTY GOD DAMN CENTS. |
 |
| The Maybellines were from Big Lots at $1 each. The rest, KMart (more on that chrome on the far left in a bit). |
 |
| Part of today's haul. Just wait until I get to that Nail Prism. |
It is insanely worth it to stop and rifle through. I've been digging through a lot of baskets. Lipstick lids aren't very secure. It's been gross.
SO. More on that Revlon chrome!

| "Budding Chrome" |

| ONE COAT! LOOKIT THAT COVERAGE. |
As far as I can figure out, this was part of a line of polishes that was released in the mid to late 90s, and was discontinued in the mid 2000s. I bought this last week. I now know how those people who find mint condition Sega Dreamcasts feel.
The formula is still flawless, as you can see by the swatch photo. It proves that keeping the lid tightly closed helps keep your polish as fresh as the day it was mixed. You don't have to worry about keeping them in the fridge or anything silly like that. Upright, tightly sealed.

| "Blush Diamond" compared to OPI DS "Reserve". Damn close, but look at dat holo. |
I had seen a Nail Prism in the KMart basket a couple weeks ago, but it was dried up solid and unopenable. Of course they still wanted 99 cents for it? KMart get your shit together. So today, on a whim, I went digging through the baskets again and found this beauty.
As far as I can tell, and I could easily be wrong, the Nail Prisms line was one of the first holographic nail polish lines. And oh my GOD look at how powerful that holo is. It could be the bottle shape; I find Reserve also has a great holo effect on the nail (I'd like to do swatches in a day or two). But I'd love to find more of these, for sure.
So seriously. Take ten minutes, put on your rattiest clothes and cautiously venture to your nearest KMart. I've also been finding limited edition OPIs at them as well, but those aren't on clearance.
